Several months ago we revealed our first game project, Alpha Squad. We posted a couple of prototype images and a brief overview of the features. Now the time has come to expand upon what we've started.

We have just released a new video that showcases several of the game play elements. You will see the general shooting game play that provides the basis of interactive tension, the investigation and interaction with world objects and the dialogue between yourself and an NPC story character.

The video shows off an interesting game play hybrid. I mentioned before that the style resembles a cross between Smash TV and Zelda, however this was just a simplistic wrapper in order to quickly promote the game.

You know what? Let me continue this later, I'm exhausted from preparing the game for the IndiePubGames contest entry in time...

After a well deserved break, I'm back to finish this posting. Let me just say that the response has been overwhelming. Nearly 30,000 views to our promotional image and our released full length music track, and 2,000 views to our You Tube video. Crazy.

The footage that you have seen, while impressive, still needs to undergo some polish. Notably in areas such as the portrait transitions during the dialogue scenes and a balancing of the weapons and enemies. There is still quite a bit of work to do, but now everyone has seen what we're aiming for.

One of the aspects that we are taking very seriously in the game are its online features. Online integration is present throughout the title. While a story mode in a typical Adventure game or RPG is single player, we're opening up this mode to allow a mix of four players online and local to participate.

In an alternate game play mode, Arena Mode, up to four players can team up to rack up as many points as possible while surviving waves of enemies in random stages. This game play style is reminiscent of "Firefight" mode from Halo ODST.

Now that the bulk of the game's framework is complete, we're free to begin adding the remaining content and polish to the title. Expect game updates to be more frequent, as we've already overcome the most difficult apex in our development cycle.
