Overview

Alpha Squad has pissed off a lot of people around the world. It might be best to look at data that has been collected on some of the guys you will be facing...

Nomad

After a sequence of disasters in the early 21st century which preceded a world wide conflict, the remaining survivors were given two options: Accept ID chip implants and live under highly controlled (but secure), megacities under Alliance supervision, or become outcasts in the mass desolation.

A large number of people who begged and pleaded for the security of these newly built, pristine megacities were rejected on account of their genetic makeup, psychological imprint, or threat level to the current government.

This mix of hardened criminals and undesirable souls make up for the bulk of the populace now known as the "Nomads" or "Outsiders", who make a living by stealing the meager belongings of others.

Occasionally groups of Nomads will band together and attempt to break into Alliance controlled territory. When this occurs, groups of Alliance "purge" squads eliminate the threat and strike deep into Outsider controlled territory.

The threat of roaming hordes of Nomads make a perfect scare tactic for the Alliance to convince the populace into accepting total dictatorship.

Sewer Slime

After the result of nuclear fallout and general degradation of societal infrastructure, strange life forms sprung from the sewers... one of these life forms being the Slime.

The Sewer Slime is a dangerous foe to encounter. First, its acid spit will burn through skin and act as an adhesive which slows your movement.

If you approach too closely to a Slime, it will attempt to consume you. There have been reports of large Slimes swallowing a grown whole and slowly digest the victim over several weeks in its transparent green skin.

Guerilla Gorilla

Watching guerilla fighters in conflict for over a century, these gorillas learned how to use the weapons left behind and now rule a substantial portion of South America.

These apes carry considerable firepower and have an itchy trigger finger. The best way to avoid these guys going ape $#!* crazy on yourself and fellow party members is to stay out of their line of sight and engage the enemy from behind trees.

Alliance Soldier

The backbone of Alliance power revolves around their legions of loyal soldiers.

You will encounter three different types of soldiers: New recruits known as "Brown Shirts", section leaders wearing blue uniforms known as "Sergeants" and the elite forces of the Alliance donning black uniforms.

Platoons of Brown Shirts and their Sergants are usually found in the outlands, carrying out purges of suspected militants and putting out the brushfires of signifcant engagements.

Black suited regulars, or the Alliance elite, are typically found defending Alliance cities or engaging in major significant conflicts throughout the world.

Mutant

An unfortunate accident during an Alliance Super-Soldier breeding program created many horrendous monstrosities, which were deemed uncontrollable and let loose in the outlands.

Some of these creatures found a second purpose as the strongmen bodyguards of roaming nomad clans. Due to the limited medical technology available, a number of these former soldiers have mechanical parts integrated throughout their body. Sometimes entire limbs are replaced with weaponry.
