Building on military research conducted by United States and Israeli scientists on the "Iron Curtain" and "Trophy" active missile protection systems in the early 21st century, the Alliance military has developed a personal defensive field worn on the belts of elite soldiers.

Rather than acting as a purely defensive measure for incoming fire, an object coming into contact with the Blade Shield, becomes eviscerated by a swirling field of high energy plasma which resembles the shape of outstretched blades.

A Blade Shield activation pack has a limited charge. Because of the extreme drain on the battery, the effect only lasts momentarily and it is suggested to only be used when surrounded by multiple opponents.

The damage amplifier is a special weapon attachment with explosive benefits. Every shot fired from any weapon held by the user has its damage doubled.

The glow effect emanating around the user lets the enemy know you mean business... and that they will probably be a puddle on the ground in the next two seconds.

After the downfall of most of civilized society, a number of nuclear warheads and materials were stolen from abandoned silos around the world.

A number of more practical, more useful personal tactical nuclear devices were created. These items will obliterate personnel or severely damage machinery.

Don't worry, we broke the laws of physics so that you can survive the blast.

If you can dish damage, you better be able to take it as well.

These health packs will come in handy during your journey. There are two different types: A standard health pack which will restore a token amount of your individual health and a survival pack which will restore half of the health of your entire team.

Assuming there is anyone left alive, you may want to revive some of your team members. A Revival Pack will restore a random teammate to 100% health.

These items can only be obtained through a special order in the Armory.

Mercenaries do not work for free.

Luckily most of the "ideologically opposed" individuals you come across will drop gold and silver bullion which can be used to purchase items from the Armory or you can do the boring option of just hording it.

Gold and Silver is the only currency accepted in the outlands. Alliance controlled areas only accept electronic credits, though some of the soldiers may carry gold or silver for bribery or emergency purposes.
