The official trailer to Alpha Squad has been released! I will answer any remaining questions brought forward about the game below on this page.

By the way, we are also hosting a contest. The grand prize is a custom portrait of you as an NPC with your choice of dialogue in Alpha Squad! Details here.

I also have to put up this hilarious string of responses to the trailer.

If you have any questions, you can contact us at dragon@dragondivide.com.

1. Will the game have a "south-paw" control option?

This is something I had not considered before. We will feature a south-paw setting based on your suggestion.

2. Will this game be released on PC, PlayStation 3, or Wii?

A PC version is a possibility after seeing how the Xbox360 version is received. A PlayStation 3 version is possible, but will take a significant amount of work as the architecture is completely different than the framework we are currently using. I would also need publisher backing in order to get access to the PlayStation Network and a development kit.

If a Wii version was attempted, it would be a shadow of the game's original intentions. The Wii online service does not have the capabilities to handle our online features and significant changes would need to be made in regards to the graphical effects.

3. Is there any larger purpose to the girls referenced in the trailer?

There are a few different purposes. For one they are optional, sometimes hidden, NPCs that give tasks to complete. Secondly completing their tasks causes their images to appear in your pause menu like a large collage (way better than achievements). Finally depending which objectives you have completed, your game ending may be altered.

4. How much of a difference is there between the contest demo and the final version?

A HUGE difference. The contest demo is unbalanced, features only one stage and a number of objects, specifically in the buildings, are not present. The majority of options are locked and there is no local or online co-op to speak of. Finally the graphical effects and A. I. are currently receiving an overhaul.

The contest demo was rushed in a mad dash during the last 48 hours of submission time. Consider it a technical demo.
